Gov. Chris Gregoire is optimistic about the state’s economy and glad to see more jobs coming to the Harbor, but she is looking nervously across the nation at states where trouble is gaining steam.
“We’re not an island, so we’re going to be adversely impacted,” Gregoire said during an interview at the Pacific County Democratic crab feed last weekend.
“Ohio and Michigan have lost almost 700,000 jobs. There’s something like five states alone — 25 percent of our national economy — that are in some form of a recession.
