Lucille and Noble Nilsen were named citizens of the year and Katherine Baril won the Business Leader of the year award Sunday, during the annual brunch sponsored by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
Baril praised a new generation of leadership that is rising in Jefferson County and she urged people to embrace change and work together for a brighter future.
“Communities that collaborate do better,” Baril said. “We need you active and engaged,” she told the crowd.
Noble Nilsen, a retired carpenter, said only, “Thanks.”
